About the designer

Juha Leiviskä

Juha Leiviskä was a Finnish architect whose buildings are widely recognised for their handling of natural light. The same attention carries into his lighting designs: rather than treating a lamp as an isolated object, he considered how light moves through a room, reflects from surfaces and changes the experience of space.

Artek describes Leiviskä as both an architect and a skilled lighting designer. His pendant designs use layered or suspended metal elements to control and diffuse light, creating a presence that can appear restrained when unlit and more spatial when illuminated. Model, scale, finish and the arrangement of reflectors are therefore important when identifying and comparing vintage examples.

Pino assesses the form, materials, suspension and visible electrical components of every vintage lamp. Unless otherwise stated, vintage lighting is sold with its original electrical configuration; pieces are tested to confirm that they function. If electrical components have been renewed, this is stated in the product information. Local installation requirements should be checked with a qualified electrician.

Explore the available Leiviskä lighting above and use the Pino Archive to compare earlier examples. If a particular model, size or finish is not available, start a sourcing request. See Shipping for international delivery and packing, and Material Care for care guidance.

Because these lamps shape light through several interacting surfaces, scale and installation height affect the result. Buyers should consider both the object’s dimensions and the room around it. We can provide measurements and additional images when a lighting plan depends on precise spatial placement.
