Vintage Chair 69 designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek, made entirely in birch. Originally introduced in the 1930s, Chair 69 is one of Aalto’s most enduring furniture designs and a classic example of his approach to simple, functional wooden seating.
The chair features Aalto’s characteristic bent birch legs together with a gently curved backrest and a shaped wooden seat. The construction is visually light and straightforward, while the warm tone of the aged birch gives these vintage examples considerably more character than newer production.
The natural surfaces have developed an attractive patina over time, with variations in tone and traces of use that suit the understated character of the design. A versatile Finnish design classic that works particularly well around a dining table, but equally as a desk or occasional chair.

Condition
Good vintage condition with visible signs of age and use. There are small areas of veneer wear and minor veneer defects on some of the seats, together with general surface wear and marks. The birch has developed a beautiful natural patina.
