The BeoSound 9000 is one of Bang & Olufsen’s most recognisable audio designs. Instead of hiding the CDs inside a conventional player, the system displays six discs vertically behind a smoked glass front. The result is both a functional high-end CD player and a sculptural design object, typical of B&O’s approach where technology, movement and materials are made visible.

Designed by David Lewis, the BeoSound 9000 features Bang & Olufsen’s characteristic combination of aluminium, black detailing and smoked glass. Its long vertical format gives the piece a strong architectural presence, whether placed on a floor stand, wall-mounted or integrated into an interior. The mechanical movement between the discs is a central part of the design, making the act of playing music visually engaging.
