Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman by Herman Miller in Rosewood and Black Leather

Original vintage Eames Lounge Chair with matching Ottoman, designed by Charles and Ray Eames and manufactured in the United States by Herman Miller. Introduced in 1956, the Eames Lounge Chair was conceived as a modern interpretation of the traditional English club chair.

Its moulded plywood shells, generously padded leather cushions and permanently reclined seating position combine exceptional comfort with one of the most recognisable silhouettes in modern furniture design. This example features beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood veneer shells, original black leather upholstery and black cast-aluminium bases with polished details.

The expressive grain of the Brazilian rosewood gives the chair a rich and distinctive appearance, while the leather has softened naturally and developed an attractive patina through decades of use.

Good vintage condition with signs of age and previous use consistent with the chair’s age. The original black leather remains soft and comfortable, showing natural creasing, surface wear and a beautifully developed patina. The rosewood shells retain their rich and expressive grain, with light marks and age-related surface wear. The aluminium bases and supporting elements show minor signs of use.
