Designed by Finnish interior architect Jussi Peippo for Asko in 1962, the Hidalgo armchair combines a low, generous lounge profile with precise geometric lines. Black leather upholstery and chrome-plated metal legs give the design a refined Scandinavian modern character.
Jussi Peippo designed the Hidalgo armchair for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Asko in 1962. Part of the wider Hidalgo series, the model reflects the clean proportions, comfort and restrained expression associated with Finnish design of the early 1960s.
The armchair is upholstered in black leather and features loose seat and back cushions, broad upholstered armrests and a structured frame with distinctive framed side panels. Chrome-plated metal legs create a visually light base and a crisp contrast with the soft leather upholstery.
