Designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro for Haimi in the late 1960s, the model 418 lounge chair, often referred to as the “Little Karuselli”, is a rarer and more compact variation of Kukkapuro’s iconic Karuselli series. While the larger model 419 became the internationally recognized classic, the 418 remains far less common and especially sought after among collectors of Finnish design.

This example features the characteristic white fibreglass shell combined with warm brown leather upholstery, creating the sculptural contrast closely associated with Kukkapuro’s work. The chair swivels smoothly and offers a relaxed seating position while maintaining a lighter and more compact profile compared to the larger Karuselli model.
