Artek A810 Floor Lamp

Designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek, the A810 floor lamp is one of the most recognizable lighting designs to come out of Finland. Originally introduced in the mid 20th century, it reflects Aalto’s approach to lighting as both functional and architectural. The layered metal shade softens and diffuses the light while also creating a sculptural form that changes depending on the viewing angle.

This version features the classic white stepped shades combined with a black stem and brass detailing. The composition is balanced and minimal, yet clearly expressive. The dual shade construction allows for a more flexible use. The upper shade creates a soft ambient glow while the lower shade can be directed more precisely, making it suitable for reading or task lighting.

The structure is slender and stable, with a weighted base that keeps the overall look light.
