Original vintage Eames Lounge Chair with matching Ottoman, designed by Charles and Ray Eames and manufactured in the United States by Herman Miller.

Introduced in 1956, the Eames Lounge Chair was conceived as a modern interpretation of the traditional English club chair. Its moulded plywood shells, generously padded leather cushions and permanently reclined seating position combine exceptional comfort with one of the most recognisable silhouettes in modern furniture design.

This example features beautifully figured rosewood veneer shells, original black leather upholstery and black cast-aluminium bases with polished details. The expressive grain of the rosewood gives the chair a rich and distinctive appearance, while the leather has softened naturally and developed an attractive patina through decades of use.

The removable, button-tufted cushions follow the curved shape of the plywood shells and provide comfortable support throughout the chair. The matching ottoman completes the relaxed seating position and continues the same combination of rosewood, black leather and aluminium.

An iconic and highly collectible example of American mid-century modern design, suitable as both a comfortable everyday lounge chair and a central statement piece in an interior.
