Ilmari Lappalainen Pulkka Lounge Chair in Brown Leather - Asko 1970s
Ilmari Lappalainen Pulkka Lounge Chair in Brown Leather
Designed by Ilmari Lappalainen in the 1960s, the Pulkka chair is one of the more recognizable Finnish lounge chair designs from the period. This example features the original brown leather upholstery combined with a light grey bent steel frame, giving the chair its distinct suspended appearance and relaxed seating position.
The padded leather cushions and floating sling construction make the chair especially comfortable, while the exposed metal frame keeps the overall look light and architectural. A strong example of Finnish modernist seating design that works well in both residential and studio interiors.
