Yrjö Kukkapuro Remmi Lounge Chair
Designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro, the Remmi lounge chair is a clear example of his approach to combining ergonomics with visible structure. Introduced in the 1970s, the design focuses on comfort through suspended support and soft cushioning, while keeping the construction open and easy to read.
The frame is made from bent chrome tubing, forming a continuous base and support structure. Black armrests add contrast and define the outline of the chair. The seat and backrest are built with a tensioned strap system, which allows the cushions to sit naturally and adapt to the body. This construction gives the chair its relaxed seating position and slightly reclined posture.
