Designed in 1970 by Finnish architect Ahti Taskinen, the original ‘Easy’ lounge chair is a rare example of forward-thinking modular design from the golden age of Finnish functionalism. Originally produced in small numbers, the chair combines a sculptural black lacquered wooden back with a powder-coated steel frame and generously cushioned seat and backrest. The chair was designed to function both as a standalone lounge and as a component in a modular system that could be reconfigured into sofas or daybeds!
Produced by Ahti Taskinen Studio in Finland (early original production).
