Designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek, the Model 402 armchair is a classic of Finnish modernist furniture design. Its elegant cantilevered birch frame provides a gentle flex, while the upholstered seat and high backrest offer excellent comfort.
This example dates from the 1940s–1950s and features a beautifully aged birch frame paired with striking black-and-white zebra upholstery. The bold pattern creates a distinctive contrast with the warm, naturally patinated wood.
