A refined Kyo-yaki (Kyoto ware) tea bowl (chawan) by Sugita Shōhei, a contemporary master known for his elegant use of gold and painted decoration in the Kyoto tradition. This piece features abstract gold brush patterns on a soft cream ground, accented with delicate hand-painted floral motifs.

The contrast between bold gilding and subtle painted detail reflects the sophistication of modern Kyoto ceramics. The bowl bears the potter’s seal on the foot and comes with its original tomobako (signed paulownia wood storage box), which ensures authenticity and enhances its collectible value.

Measurements: Diameter 12 cm; Height 8 cm. Its proportions, material character and surface details allow the piece to sit comfortably in both contemporary and vintage interiors.

Excellent vintage condition with minimal wear. Please review all images for details.
