About the manufacturer

French manufacture shaped by experimentation

Ligne Roset’s history begins with the Roset family’s woodworking activity in the Ain region of France in 1860. The company moved from turned wood and chair production into upholstered seating and contract furniture during the twentieth century. Ligne Roset became the official brand name in 1973, the same year Michel Ducaroy introduced Togo.

Ducaroy’s work reflects an important shift in post-war furniture design. New upholstery foams, quilting and thermoformed plastics gave designers alternatives to the traditional timber frame. For Ligne Roset he developed seating including Adria, Kashima, Marsala and Togo. Togo’s low, all-foam construction and folded upholstery made it especially well suited to informal modular arrangements, while Marsala combines a moulded shell with generous cushions.

Vintage Ligne Roset pieces vary by module, upholstery, production period and previous use. A single Togo fireside chair has a different role from a corner, ottoman, two-seater or complete group, and apparently similar examples may differ in dimensions or internal construction. Pino evaluates labels, construction, materials, proportions and documented model details before offering a piece. We only acquire and sell pieces that we have established to be authentic; original certificates or paperwork are included whenever they remain with the piece.

The active selection below is updated as individual pieces become available. Product pages provide the condition, dimensions, materials and quantity for each example. The Archive records earlier Ligne Roset pieces sourced by Pino and offers useful references for colours, configurations and models that may return through our sourcing network.
