Ilmari Lappalainen Pulkka armchair with ottoman in Black Leather - Asko 1970s
Designed in the late 1960s, the Pulkka armchair is one of Ilmari Lappalainen’s most iconic lounge designs. The name “Pulkka” refers to a sled, which is reflected in the low profile and flowing cantilever structure. It is a strong example of Finnish modernism with a distinct international feel.
This set includes the matching ottoman, completing the original lounging experience. The chair features black leather upholstery paired with a brushed aluminium frame. The seat is adjustable to three different positions, allowing you to shift from a more upright seating angle to a deeper reclined position. Combined with the ottoman, the comfort level is on another level. This is a chair you actually want to sit in for hours.
Produced by Asko Export, this model represents a period when Finnish design was gaining strong international visibility.
