A refined Kutani-yaki (九谷焼) tea bowl from the Tokuyama Kiln (徳山窯), created by Nitta Kunihiko (新田國彦). Kutani ware, a porcelain tradition originating in Ishikawa Prefecture, is celebrated for its vibrant overglaze enamels and bold painterly designs. This piece reflects that heritage with delicate hand-painted decoration and balanced form, making it both a functional chawan and a collector’s ceramic work.
The chawan comes with its original tomobako (signed wooden box), which provides protection and affirms authenticity, enhancing its value within the Japanese tea tradition. Measurements: Diameter 10.5 cm; Height 8 cm.
Its proportions, material character and surface details allow the piece to sit comfortably in both contemporary and vintage interiors.
Excellent vintage condition with minimal signs of use. Please review all images for details.
