Yrjö Kukkapuro designed the 418 for Haimi in the late 1960s as part of his exploration into ergonomic, sculptural lounge seating. The fibreglass shell carries Kukkapuro’s signature flowing lines while the pedestal base gives the chair a light, almost floating stance.

This example comes in black leather with a white shell and features the original adjustable reclining mechanism with three positions. The detachable headrest adds comfort and makes the chair easy to adapt for different users. A refined and functional piece of Finnish modern design.
