Alvar Aalto Stool E60 for Artek, Red Lacquered Birch

This Artek Stool E60 was designed by Alvar Aalto and manufactured in Finland in 2019. The four-legged, stackable stool combines clear-lacquered birch legs with a red-lacquered birch seat.

Alvar Aalto designed Stool E60 in 1934 as the four-legged version of his iconic bentwood stool. Manufactured by Artek in Finland, its compact, stackable form can be used as a seat, side table or display surface.

The four L-shaped legs and seat edge-band are solid birch with a clear lacquer finish. The seat core is made from solid birch and birch plywood, with a red-lacquered birch surface. The legs are mounted directly to the underside of the round seat.
