Artek 65 Chair with Finger-Joint - Alvar Aalto, 1950s

This vintage Artek 65 chair was designed by Alvar Aalto and produced in Finland during the 1950s. Made in birch, it has a warm honey-toned patina developed through decades of use.

The chair combines a circular seat with Aalto’s bentwood leg construction. Visible finger joints are a distinctive feature of this early production version and add subtle detail to the otherwise clear, functional form.

The birch surfaces retain their aged finish and individual character. Each chair shows variations in tone, wear and markings that reflect its long working life.

Four chairs are available and sold individually. Their compact proportions and stackable construction make them suitable for dining, desk or occasional seating.
