Percival Lafer Mosaic Coffee Table in Rosewood, Mixed Wood and Glass, 1970s

A Brazilian coffee table designed by Percival Lafer, dating to circa the 1970s. Its low rectangular profile brings together a sculptural wooden surface and a clear glass top.

Rosewood and mixed woods form a mosaic of narrow blocks set at different heights. Their varied grain and warm tones create a textured composition that continues across the broad end panels.

The glass provides a level surface while leaving the wooden relief visible beneath it. Hinged end supports allow the base to fold, and the underside is stamped 'Made in Brazil'.

A distinctive centrepiece for a living room, with a generous surface and an open profile between the end supports. This example is in very good vintage condition, with minor age-related marks.
